SPORTING DESTINY

We’ve got amazing employees! These are some of their stories.

“Sports has always been to me, something that unites.  Sports has the power to bring people together.  I’ve always admired that and knew I wanted to make a career in an industry with that kind of draw.”

Do you believe in destiny?  That’s not a question one really thinks about when asked to write a blog post for their job.  But…Yup, that’s me right now.  So, cue the *Record scratch*, *Freeze Frame*, and crank up “The Who” and I’ll tell you how I ended up in this situation.

It all started in Japan when a handsome man with very little rhythm met a beautiful woman at a bar and asked her to dance…  We don’t need to go back that far but it does start when I was young and knew I wanted to be around sports for life!  Not tremendously gifted and a bit awkward as an athlete, I turned to what most do in this situation, go for sports writing and broadcasting.

My career took me from producing and running the audio board in local sports radio, to traveling across the U.S. as a production crew member for the NFL on Fox.  I even went international with my time at CNN producing their World Sport show.  I’ve had the privilege of covering professional sports close-up.  I’ve seen curses broken at the World Series.  A golfer’s big pay day finally come in at the PGA Championships.  A College Football Champion crowned in their home state.  And one hell of a helmet catch to end the Patriots pursuit of perfection at the Superbowl…

It’s been an honor to capture and tell the stories of coaches, athletes, and teams at the highest level of competition.  It takes a lot of manpower to broadcast these games over the airwaves and into the homes of fans everywhere. And much like the athletes we captured at these events, we’re hard-working, driven, and have a passion to do it.

All for the love of the game.

What’s not to love?  The crazy schedule, grueling hours, the sheer size and cost it takes to professionally broadcast sports.  Imagine, a single NFL game has more than 22 cameras in the stadium!!!  With these kind of production requirements, it’s easy to see why most sporting events don’t get covered.  That’s a shame because there are so many great athletes, hardworking teams, and brilliant coaches that don’t get exposure on the big stage.  Their successes and their stories go largely untold.

When I started working at Pixellot I felt like I was on the cutting edge of sports technology, working for a company using AI Automation to capture the games of teams big and small for the coaches and the enjoyment of sports fans everywhere.  It’s an amazing feeling to be a small part of helping distribute the technology to make the democratization of sports happen.  AI automation levels the playing field for sports like never before.

The moments that count most

Pixellot is all about bringing you the sporting moments that count most with the look and feel of a professional TV broadcast.  An executive away on business can see her son’s baseball game from two states away.  Grandma and Grandpa can get highlights of their grandchild’s basketball game while cruising the high seas.  NCAA DII and DIII alumni can catch their school’s games live via our OTT platform, some for the first time ever!

Uniting and bringing people together through sports.  That’s why I got into the industry to begin with.  And that’s exactly what I do every day at Pixellot.  Sort of feels like destiny, doesn’t it?
