HOW TO CREATE A SPORTS HIGHLIGHT VIDEO

As one of the biggest sports broadcasters in the world, we’ve seen some great highlights and want to provide some tips we’ve learned over the years to help everyone show off their best moments!

1. MAKE YOUR BEST MOMENTS BIG

Pixellot makes it easy to showcase your talent through their data and analytics platform, VidSwap. You can quickly filter and search games for your very best moves with just a couple clicks of your mouse. Want to see all your blocks? Need a playlist of all your three’s? How about a montage of all your goals? You can filter for plays and get your best moments out there!

2. TIMING IS EVERYTHING

Remember to keep things short. Everyone is busy, so don’t make them wait for the action! Grab people’s attention by putting your best plays first. Recruiters and scouts are pressed for time, so our trimming tool should be your best friend. Cut out the in-bound pass, pre-snap action, or the pitcher checking the runner on 2nd base—get to that delivery pitch and you knocking it out of the park faster.

3. ALL EYES ON YOU

Don’t be afraid to tell people where you are. Use our circle or spot shadow tools to show your audience where you are in any given play.  If you’re on a fast break down the blue line, use a freeze frame and circle yourself so everyone knows where to look and not to miss your wicked top shelf wrister.

4. SAVVY SHARING

Leverage your VidSwap highlights to get you noticed.  You can share your newly edited highlights not only as a post or a story but don’t forget to add it as a highlight on your Instagram page.  Since stories vanish after 24 hours, using Instagram Highlights let’s your clip of awesomeness live permanently on your profile!  You can add or delete content from there any time.  Don’t forget to add appropriate hashtags and tag @pixellotofficial for the chance to feature your reel on our top plays!

GET NOTICED NOW

Highlights are a crucial way to get you noticed.  With Pixellot, highlight creation is simple and quick.  So why are you still reading?  Go create an amazing highlight right now!
