Tel Aviv, 23rd February, 2017 – Pixellot, the leading provider of automated sports production solutions, today announced its next generation of automated sports production systems, delivering 8K interactive mobile video to media platforms and users’ devices. The cutting-edge technology will be showcased at the GSMA Innovation City at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, where Pixellot will be hosted at Huawei’s booth as an innovation partner.

Pixellot will be demonstrating 8K live and VOD streaming through a variety of applications, including VR, mobile and non-linear TV.

Based on its cloud-based end-to-end architecture, Pixellot systems enable media companies, sports organizations and venues to produce TV-like sportscasts without human intervention and at minimal costs. This offers service providers and telcos a wealth of affordably generated high-quality content to power innovative mobile broadband and web-TV services.

With its panoramic field capture and reframing capability, Pixellot footage constitutes an ideal base for VR applications and interactive, non-linear viewing experiences where users chose their own view. Users can watch games in regular HD or as panoramic videos, zoom into any scene, create their own clips and share them on social media. Today, Pixellot systems are deployed around the globe to cover amateur sports, but also as video coaching solution for top league clubs such as the British Premier League and Germany’s Bayer Munich Youth Academy.

“Pixellot’s solutions enable telcos and service providers to grow their mobile content and OTT offering, which is a crucial element of their growth strategies”, explains Amit Navon, Network Research Product Manager at Huawei.

“Interactive sports content is highly engaging and service providers understand the potential of our automated sports production solution”, explains Alon Werber, CEO at Pixellot. “In Germany for example, Deutsche Telekom is a founding partner of sporttotal.tv, a web-TV service powered by Pixellot production systems. We’re excited to present our solution at Mobile World Congress together with Huawei.”
