Pixellot Signs Landmark Five-Year Contract Extension with PlayOn Sports
Deeper relationship will expand existing leadership; Pixellot now delivers more than half a million live games annually through 16,000 systems at over 9,000 U.S. high schools
Pixellot, the largest streamer of global youth and amateur sports, today announced a five-year extension of its partnership with PlayOn Sports, the premier fan engagement suite for high school athletics. PlayOn operates GoFan, MaxPreps, and the NFHS Network, serving high school communities across the United States with trusted digital ticketing, streaming, media, data, and analysis.
Launched in 2017, the original agreement introduced Pixellot automated production technology to the PlayOn high school network. Since then, the partnership has advanced high school sports coverage—installing over 16,000 systems in more than 9,000 US high schools, streaming over half a million events annually. Together, the companies are building on this success to shape the future of high school sports coverage.
Pixellot’s Agentic AI is a primary driver of this exciting future. The technology promises to have a direct, meaningful impact on NFHS Network subscribers, with enriched and enhanced experiences to drive greater engagement and revenue. Unlike traditional SaaS models, which are one-way economic exchanges, AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) enables a revenue-sharing model between aligned stakeholders. Pixellot and PlayOn are the first to deploy AIaaS in the exploding sports tech industry and are among the first to introduce it in any industry sector.
“AIaaS is a truly revolutionary approach to the partnership model in the youth sports industry, and we are thrilled to be launching it with PlayOn,” said Doron Gerstel, CEO of Pixellot. “It’s what you would expect from Pixellot, with our decade-plus of leadership. Our agentic technology, driven by the engagement it creates and the personalization it makes possible, will unlock unprecedented revenue opportunities. We are making the pie bigger, so every share grows exponentially.”
Under the new agreement, Pixellot and PlayOn will strengthen their collaboration to create new opportunities for personalized fan experiences and drive broader adoption within the rapidly growing youth sports ecosystem. The AIaaS platform will enable a new era of fan, family, and community engagement by making it possible to build personalized and interactive connections with content.
Pixellot’s continued investment in innovation will further strengthen the partnership. Earlier this year, Pixellot introduced automated First Down Markers (Yellow Line) and replays, along with the Pixellot S3 camera. These advancements have elevated the streaming experience on the NFHS Network and align with new developments in the PlayOn suite, including MaxPreps Advantage coaching analytics.
MaxPreps Advantage transforms game film into actionable insights while creating shareable content. Auto-captured game footage generates verified stats, scores, and recap videos, which upload automatically to MaxPreps to reach millions of fans. This technology enables PlayOn to deliver content in the most consumable, high-engagement formats.
“Together, PlayOn and Pixellot have captured and produced over 3.4 million high school athletic events,” said David Rudolph, President, Streaming and Coaching Tools at PlayOn. “This scale of coverage has redefined how communities experience high school sports, and we look forward to expanding that impact even further in the years ahead.”
Pixellot and PlayOn are doubling down on their shared commitment to serving the fans, schools, and state associations who make high school sports possible, with a shared dedication to equal opportunity across all sports, levels, and participants.
